How can I prepare for my Laser Hair Removal appointment?
- YOU MUST SHAVE AT A MAXIMUM OF 48 HOURS PRIOR. Best results come when hair is freshly shaved. Treatment providers have the right to deny treatment.
- You must stay out of the sun for at least 2 weeks. Cannot be treated with a sunburn, fresh tan or someone who is planning to be in the sun.
- Cannot be treated with sunless tanning products on skin. Discontinue use 2 weeks prior to treatment.
- Cannot use antibiotics 2-3 weeks prior to treatment.
- If you are using any photosensitive medications, please consult with your treatment provider before booking an IPL treatment.
- Stop using retinol products 5-7 days before your treatment.
- Do not pluck, wax or use hair removal chemicals at any time during the course of treatment.
What are my post care instructions? What should I expect post Laser Hair Removal treatment?
- You may experience redness and swelling around the hair follicle lasting from 30 minutes to 3 days, depending on sensitivity.
- Avoid sun exposure, intense workouts, excessive heat, hot showers, hot tubs and saunas for at least 48 hours.
- An approved SPF must be worn daily along with a hat, if outside for a long period of time.
- An approved cooling spray or ice pack may be used for comfort, if needed.
- Laser Hair Removal must be repeated every 6 to 8 weeks for desired results. Duration of treatment depends on thickness of hair and skin type. Consult with treatment provider to determine the length of your personalized treatment plan.
- You can shave throughout your entire treatment and are required to shave at least 48 hours prior to appointment.
