Fall Chat with Your Esti, Casey!
Fall and winter are generally the best times of the year to treat yourself to a more “aggressive” chemical peel. Why, you ask?! Well, you're generally not out in the sun, you want to correct all of the sun damage and hyperpigmentation you’ve accumulated over the summer, and you have holiday events that you want your skin to have that hydrated, even, glowing appearance!
What does a chemical peel actually do? Chemical peels are a restorative cosmetic procedure that help reduce the signs of aging, hyperpigmentation, acne, appearance of scars, and uneven texture on your face, neck, decollate, and even the back of your hands.
At Infinity, we offer many different superficial peels but my absolute favorite is the VI Peel! This peel is safe for all skin types and tones. It’s formulated to treat most skin concerns above as well as pesky melasma that most lasers can’t treat.
Now, I’m a bit of a wimp with the burning sensation of chemical peels but guess what?! The VI Peel contains phenol which is a numbing agent so you barely feel the active ingredients which are retinoic acid, salicylic acid, TCA, ascorbic acid, kojic acid, and hydroquinone.
After your treatment, we send you home with a take-home kit to get you through the next 7 days as your skin peels and heals. You should expect some flaking by day 2 and peeling through days 3-5. By day 6, the peeling will ease. And by day 7, most patients have stopped peeling revealing even, glowing skin! I always recommend a series of 3 separated by 4-6 weeks for max benefits.
And don’t forget - WEAR YOUR SUNSCREEN!!
